Ella Mai Makes a Comeback With New EP ‘3’

British R and B singer Ella Mai is making a comeback with her new EP 3. Ella Mai whose most known for her single “Boo’d Up” from her third extended play Ready. Mai who had taken a break from social media posted a video to her Instagram. In the video the singer is seen getting her makeup done lip syncing to Diamond Dondada ‘She’s Back’ freestyle.

Ella Mai got her start on the British X-Factor as a trio ‘Arize’ the group had little success. Mai was discovered by DJ Mustard on Instagram after her first EP Troubled was released. After releasing her self titled debut album in October 2018 her sophomore album Heart on My Sleeve followed in May 2022. Since its release Mai has made little noise on the music scene. It was speculated by fans that she was pregnant by NBA power forward Jayson Tatum. After Mai was spotted in an oversized dress in June of 2024 and a recent photo of her holding a newborn. The British singer welcomed her fourth extended play on November 3 as a 30th birthday gift to her fans.

The EP produced by Mustard, Nic Nas, Mike Robbins, and GYLTTRYP. The EP boast three singles titled “Hearts On Deck,” “One Of These,” and “Little Things”. Each song on the EP provides a different feeling for listeners. “Hearts On Deck” provides listeners with your typically R and B feeling. The sounds consistent of soft instruments, finger snaps, and lightweight vocals. “One Of These” comes in with a harder beat resembling a marching band. Ella’s vocals on this track is more talkative than singing as in the previous track. The track ends with Ella incorporating the viral Tok Tok chicken sandwich sound. “Little Things” serves as a blend of both songs. Carrying a melodically vocal but provides a heavy harp like instrumental beat. The EP is available now for download.
