Elon Musk recently sparked a wave of controversy over Jennifer Lopez’s past relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. During the November 4 episode, Musk discussed Lopez’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for president, suggesting that Lopez may have overlooked troubling behavior by her ex, Combs.

“JLo was like his ex-girlfriend, and it’s like now deciding she’s like warning people against [Donald] Trump,” Musk said, adding, “How many people did she warn against Diddy, right? Oh, zero, okay.”

The comments come amid serious allegations against Combs, who was charged on September 16 in a federal indictment with counts of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.

Musk went further, claiming that “people in the music entertainment industry had to know” about alleged abuse by Combs. However, Jennifer Lopez has not been mentioned in any lawsuits involving the Bad Boy Records founder, and there is no evidence suggesting she was aware of any alleged misconduct during their relationship, which ended in 2001.

Combs, who pleaded not guilty, remains at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, with his trial scheduled for May 5, 2025. Meanwhile, Musk’s remarks drew attention to a complex network of relationships, as a new book by Ryan Mac and Kate Conger suggested that Musk has boasted about his close friendship with Combs in the past. Musk, however, has since spoken out on social media, questioning who in the music industry was aware of the allegations.

Aubrey O’Day, formerly of Danity Kane, weighed in on Musk’s October 1 post. Known for her outspoken criticism of Combs, she wrote, “..ask your friends, they will tell you,” possibly alluding to widespread knowledge within the industry.

As the situation unfolds, Lopez’s representatives have yet to comment on Musk’s statements. The broader implications of Musk’s claims have only added to the growing public discourse around accountability and awareness in the entertainment industry.
