Quavo and Offset Remember TakeOff on the Anniversary of His Passing: ‘Always in Our Hearts’
Quavo and Offset have both expressed their grief over the passing of their Migos bandmate TakeOff on the second anniversary of his death.
On Friday, November 1, Quavo, who is TakeOff’s uncle, took to Instagram to post two photos featuring him and his nephew, accompanied by a heartfelt message.
Additionally, the “Turn Yo Clic Up” artist honored TakeOff, according to HipHopDX, on his Instagram Stories by sharing a picture of the two together, along with a touching caption that reads; “Til Infinity [infinity sign emoji, rocket ship emoji].”
Offset also continued to mourn TakeOff’s passing by sharing several photos of him alongside his late collaborator.
TakeOff, whose real name was Kirshnik Ball, tragically lost his life in a shooting outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, during the early hours of November 1, 2022. The 28-year-old was fatally injured when a dice game escalated into violence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the incident, Quavo was present but emerged unharmed, while two other individuals were taken to local hospitals with gunshot injuries.
A man by the name of Patrick Xavier Clark has been charged with TakeOff’s murder and was previously under house arrest after posting a $1 million bond. He has entered a plea of not guilty.
Although Quavo and Offset had been experiencing tensions prior to this tragedy, the recent death of fellow Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan seems to have motivated them to reconcile.
After Quan’s passing, which was later determined to be an accidental overdose, Quavo shared several nostalgic photos of the Migos with the late rapper on social media, followed by a message of positivity: “Good convo with my bro @offsetyrn [link emoji] [praying hands emoji].”
