Snoop Dogg Announces Release Date for New Dr. Dre-Produced Album ‘Missionary’
Rap legend Snoop Dogg announces brand new album, entirely produced by Dr. Dre.
Snoop Dogg has officially announced the release date for his upcoming album Missionary, produced entirely by longtime collaborator Dr. Dre. The album, positioned as a sequel to Snoop’s 1993 classic Doggystyle, is set to drop on December 13. This release marks the first full-length collaboration between Dre and Snoop since the groundbreaking Doggystyle.

The rapper made the announcement with a playful promotional video featuring two Mormon missionaries who find themselves surprised by an unexpected “missionary” greeting. The humorous clip quickly went viral, hinting at the album’s distinct style.
A 30-Year Reunion of Hip-Hop Legends
Snoop first teased Missionary back in 2022, mentioning it as a 30th-anniversary tribute to Doggystyle, which Dre also fully produced. Doggystyle set records as the fastest-selling hip-hop album upon its release and has become a timeless hip-hop classic, widely regarded as one of the genre’s greatest.
In recent months, both Snoop and Dre have dropped exciting hints about the project. Dre mentioned in August that he was nearing completion of mixing the album and disclosed that Missionary would feature Sting. Snoop later confirmed that Sting and Jelly Roll would appear on the album, adding to the excitement.
Anticipated Guest Appearances
Rumors around Missionary have only fueled fan anticipation. 50 Cent hinted at a feature on the album earlier this year, and Method Man confirmed his involvement during a recent Drink Champs interview.
Snoop and Dre’s partnership has produced iconic tracks over the decades, starting with Dre’s 1992 album The Chronic, which introduced Snoop to the world. The duo later delivered hits like “Still D.R.E.” and “Forgot About Dre” and shared the stage at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. They even reunited at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony, solidifying their legacy as hip-hop icons.
With Missionary, fans can look forward to another legendary chapter in Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s musical journey.
