Lil Durk Arrested for Alleged Involvement in Murder Plot Against Quando Rondo to Avenge King Von’s Death
Lil Durk arrested in connection to Quando Rondo’s cousin’s death in retaliation to King Von’s murder.in 2020.
Chicago rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, was arrested on Thursday, October 24, in Broward County, Florida. This arrest stems from allegations that he played a role in a murder-for-hire plot against Georgia rapper Quando Rondo to avenge the death of King Von, a fellow Chicago artist and former close friend.
The arrest is connected to the 2022 murder of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, Quando Rondo’s cousin, who was killed in Los Angeles. Reports suggest that five other men, allegedly members of Durk’s OTF (Only the Family) collective, have been charged with murder for hire and conspiracy to commit murder for hire. Durk is currently held without bond at Broward County Jail and awaits transfer to U.S. Marshals custody.
The recent indictment, filed in the U.S. Central District Court of California, identifies five suspects in Robinson’s murder: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. The document describes the group’s use of OTF’s resources, including travel arrangements paid for with an OTF-linked credit card. Prosecutors assert that a co-conspirator offered “money and lucrative music opportunities” to anyone involved in targeting Quando Rondo.
This case may be linked to a previous incident in 2020, where King Von was killed during a confrontation with Quando Rondo’s crew in Atlanta, igniting a prolonged conflict between Lil Durk and Quando Rondo, as well as NBA YoungBoy, whose Never Broke Again label includes Rondo.
Quando and Lul Pab were reportedly ambushed in Beverly Hills in August 2022, where Rondo escaped but Robinson tragically lost his life. The attack appears to have been an alleged attempt to retaliate for King Von’s death, fueling speculation of an intensifying feud between OTF and NBA affiliates.
Lil Durk’s legal troubles are compounded by a recent wrongful death lawsuit filed by the mother of FBG Duck, another Chicago rapper who was murdered in 2020. The lawsuit accuses Lil Durk and King Von of placing a bounty on FBG Duck’s life, with claims that Durk’s actions were a part of a broader campaign of violence. Six men were convicted of FBG Duck’s murder earlier this year, but the lawsuit seeks further accountability.
As of now, Lil Durk and his representatives have yet to comment publicly on the case. Fans and the hip-hop community are closely watching how these charges, if proven, could impact one of Chicago’s most prominent voices.
