Liam Payne’s Toxicology Report Reveals Drug Cocktail at Time of Death: Preliminary Autopsy Findings
Several drug substances found in the singer’s system in new discovery.
Liam Payne, former One Direction member, had multiple substances in his system at the time of his tragic death, according to an ABC News report. Payne, 31, fell from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last Wednesday, and a preliminary autopsy has since detected cocaine, crack cocaine, and benzodiazepine. The latter is a commonly prescribed sedative often sold under brand names like Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin.
The toxicology report also found traces of “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug known as “Tusi.” This dangerous cocktail typically contains methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and other substances, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. Last month, the agency reported that Tusi was being sold across various Manhattan locations.
Payne’s body is being held in Argentina pending a full autopsy. Local hotel staff alerted authorities about a guest acting erratically and possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. First responders arrived shortly after but found Payne dead in the hotel courtyard. A preliminary postmortem indicated he died from multiple traumas and internal bleeding.
In the days following his death, fans gathered for vigils in London and Paris to honor the singer’s memory.
This tragic incident continues to unfold, and further autopsy results are awaited.
