Travis Scott surprised fans during his Sydney, Australia show by bringing out The Weeknd as a special guest on Friday (October 18). The moment was not only a treat for the audience, but also a heartfelt tribute as Scott took time to thank The Weeknd for supporting him early in his career.

Scott reminisced with the crowd about how Abel (The Weeknd) gave him his first arena tour opportunity, recalling the 2015 Madness Fall Tour, where Scott opened every show. “This man right here let me open up for two tours when I put out my first album,” Scott said on stage. “He gave me my first arena tour ever. If it wasn’t for this guy right now, I probably wouldn’t be on this stage right now.”

The Madness Fall Tour also featured Banks and Halsey in supporting roles, and it marked a pivotal moment in Scott’s rise as a live performer.

The two artists have shared the stage several times, most recently at Mike Dean’s birthday show in Los Angeles earlier this year. In March, Scott and The Weeknd performed alongside Dean at the Wilton Theater, collaborating on Circus Maximus and more. Their long-standing creative relationship has produced memorable moments in live performances and music alike.
