Tragic news emerged from Columbus, Ohio, as Tallahassee rapper Ralan Styles was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday, October 19, during an attempted robbery where his chain was targeted.

The 22-year-old artist, born Michael Robinson, was known for shedding light on the dark side of the music industry. Through his music and commentary, Ralan exposed the realities of the rap game, from shady dealings to disingenuous friendships, offering fans an unfiltered look behind the scenes. He openly discussed the challenges artists face and revealed the traps that often go unspoken in the industry.

Ralan also shared gripping stories of his encounters with fellow artists like Justina Valentine and Julio Foolio, which captivated listeners and showcased his unique experiences in the music world.

Sadly, Ralan’s life was cut short in a violent altercation. Columbus police responded to an unknown complaint in the 300 block of West Third Avenue just before 5 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found Michael Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene around 5:10 a.m.

Authorities arrested 24-year-old Mahamood Hassan in connection to the murder. Hassan, who has a prior criminal record including trespassing and theft, has been charged with Robinson’s death and is currently facing murder charges in Franklin County Municipal Court.

The tragic death of Ralan Styles has sent shockwaves through the music community, with fans and artists mourning the loss of a rising talent.
