Gucci Mane Overhauls 1017 Records, Drops Most Artists While Searching for New Talent
Gucci Mane is looking to reset things at his 1017 record label.
Big changes are coming to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label. On October 18, Gucci posted a video revealing that he’s dropping nearly all of his artists, citing business challenges as the reason for the shakeup.
“When I’m looking at my P&L, and me being a businessman, I’m thinking that I’m going to have to release almost all my artists except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano,”
Gucci explained, emphasizing that the decision was difficult but necessary. He continued, “Today, I reached out to all of my artists, to their lawyers, and let them know that they’re free to take their talents elsewhere.”

Despite the overhaul, Gucci Mane is still on the lookout for fresh talent.
“I’m still looking for new talent to pair with Pooh and Foo — and that’s where I’m going to put my focus,” he added.
1017 Records has faced a series of challenges in recent years, including the tragic deaths of artists Enchanting and Big Scarr due to drug overdoses. Additionally, several of the label’s signees have been entangled in legal issues. Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are currently serving five-year sentences, while HotBoy Wes was sentenced to 15 years, and Mac Critter was arrested for first-degree murder.
Earlier this year, Gucci launched a new label, So Icy Millionaires, and hinted that the shakeup may not impact this venture. In a July video, he teased his next move, saying,
“I’m looking for my next male superstar.”
Gucci Mane’s decision to revamp 1017 Records signals a shift in direction, but it appears he’s still eager to find and nurture new talent.
