Rather than staying quiet, GloRilla confronted the negativity head-on via Instagram Live, addressing her haters just before hitting the stage for a performance.
“I show y’all my motherf**king bare face every motherfking day,” she said defiantly, emphasizing that she’s never hidden or been ashamed of her natural features. She went on to say, “Big fat motherf**ker sitting on my face, what’s up?… I’ll get on Live quick, bonnet, hair not done.”
Rising rap star GloRilla is being heavily criticized amid a video of her getting glammed up going viral with many commenting on her nose specifically.
Do you find remarks of that nature to be anti-black? pic.twitter.com/HflT9e0m9n— Mílagro (@MobzWorld) October 18, 2024

Glorilla nose is big so wat lol she’s black tf those are African features.— naynay♌️ (@NayRobz) October 19, 2024
Yes it’s anti black because glorilla is actually not ugly. People make it seem like she’s a goblin. When ppl say she ugly they usually talking about her nose. Isn’t it odd she’s light skinned but don’t get the same exact treatment because of her very noticeable black features? https://t.co/P0Tzuo1ACR pic.twitter.com/tHn84Uv97h— sexyy cinderella (@aRareVoice) October 18, 2024
Despite the negative remarks, GloRilla is currently riding high on a wave of success. Her debut album, Glorious, made a huge splash, debuting at number five on the Billboard 200 with over 60,000 units sold in its first week. Fans and supporters have rallied around her, praising her for staying true to herself and defending her against the body-shaming comments, sparking conversations around featurism and racism in the music industry.
Through it all, GloRilla remains focused on her success and refuses to let the online hate affect her mood or momentum.
