Drake’s musical journey has taken yet another unexpected turn following his historic rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. On Friday (October 18), the rapper surprised fans with a feature on rising Mexican regional artist Chino Pacas’s debut LP, Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas.

The track, titled “Modo Capone,” features Drake singing in Spanish, crooning lyrics like, “La ninfo mami me llama/ Me quiere en su cama, fresas y cocaine,” which translates to a reference about a “nympho” woman, strawberries, and drugs. He later flexes his wealth with a line about his Rolex, adding to the song’s braggadocious tone.

This collaboration has sparked a range of reactions from fans. One user humorously commented, “Drake been a gangsta, a Cowboy, a Mexican, Canadian, Jewish, black, white wtf else is next man?” while another expressed concern about his genre-hopping, stating, “Literally nobody asked for Drake to touch Mexican music.”

The release was accompanied by a Mexican culture-inspired ad for Stake, a popular betting company, which Drake shared on his Instagram, further leaning into his recent Texas residency and connection to Mexican culture.

While some criticize Drake for being a “culture vulture,” a claim Lamar previously made on his track “Not Like Us,” others appreciate his wide-ranging musical experimentation. Despite the mixed reactions from Hip Hop fans, the track is gaining momentum, bringing more attention to Chino Pacas’s album.
