Kendrick Lamar Endorses Doechii, Calling Her ‘The Hardest Out’

Doechii has just received a major stamp of approval from none other than Kendrick Lamar. On Thursday (Oct. 17), the Compton legend took to Instagram to share a CashApp commercial starring Doechii, the rising star behind the hit “What It Is (Block Boy).” He also posted the cover of her latest project, Alligator Bites Never Heal, along with a bold caption: “The hardest out.”

The endorsement didn’t go unnoticed. Doechii quickly responded with gratitude, writing, “Thank you, Dot. You [are] the greatest.” She continued to show appreciation in an Instagram Story, stating, “Getting your flowers while you can smell them >>>.” The Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) signee also shared a playful TikTok video of herself celebrating.

While the two TDE artists have yet to collaborate, Doechii expressed her desire to work with Lamar during a September appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast. “I don’t feel entitled to a Kendrick feature, but I would absolutely love that,” she said, revealing it’s a goal for her future projects.

Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal dropped in late August, receiving high praise from fans and her TDE labelmates. The 19-track album is feature-free and showcases production from notable talents like Devin Malik, Childish Major, Kal Banx, and Super Miles. Standout tracks include “CATFISH,” “BOOM BAP,” and “NISSAN ALTIMA,” with a visual for the latter featuring Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, and Jay Rock.

Currently on her “Alligator Bites Never Heal Tour,” Doechii is set to perform in Berlin on Monday (Oct. 21), followed by stops in Amsterdam, Paris, London, Los Angeles, and Tampa.

As for Kendrick Lamar, he recently surprised fans with a new release in September, marking his first track since the music video for “Not Like Us” dropped in July.
