Toosii recently made light of his album JADED’s underwhelming debut on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, humorously suggesting he might need a new career path after his project sold 16,000 units, landing at No. 50.

After the news broke on October 14, Toosii tweeted a few humorous comments, including:

“Who job hiring…? [melted face emoji]” and “Alright jokes over wrap this shit up by tomorrow I just went 50 Billboard Top 200 on a mixtape [sly face emoji] don’t let the jokes fool you [prayer hands emoji] stay blessed!”

Though his tweets were later deleted, fans caught the lighthearted commentary.

Toosii’s playful job search follows bold statements he made before the release of JADED. In a live video, the rapper had confidently promised that if his album didn’t hit at least 20,000 units sold, he would quit rap altogether.

“I bet it on my life: If my project don’t at least do 20,000, I will quit rapping,”

Toosii said at the time, adding, “I’ll go get the [expletive] some other way.” While he made it clear that his frustration wasn’t with the numbers themselves but with what he perceives as the lack of respect for good music, he was clearly disappointed by the result.

Toosii’s rant about the state of Hip Hop hit a nerve, as he criticized the saturation of the industry and the promotion of subpar songs. He expressed that it’s no longer about the quality of the music but about what’s popular, which he feels is causing Hip Hop’s decline.

“The game oversaturated, they think everybody can do it, we gassing up [expletive] trash songs,” Toosii vented.

Despite his frustrations, Toosii made it clear that he’s not actually quitting the rap game. Instead, he might be eyeing a backup career as a minister. Earlier this week, Toosii took to Instagram to share a fun clip of himself officiating weddings in Central Park, New York City. “I bet y’all didn’t know I was a licensed ordained minister! Shout out to these beautiful couples [heart emoji] and congratulations [wedding ring emoji]. NOW WHO DOING MY WEDDING? [crying laughing emoji],” he wrote, adding a playful twist to the situation.

While the video has sparked some speculation, with fans thinking it could be tied to his music video for “I Do” featuring Muni Long, it’s clear that Toosii is staying positive and keeping his sense of humor in the face of the album’s sales results.
