Ye Teases New Track as Anticipation Builds for Upcoming BULLY Project
The upcoming project could mark the Chicago rapper’s first solo album to hit streaming platforms since 2021’s Donda.
Ye has teased his highly anticipated project BULLY is “on the way,” sharing an updated version of his track “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” on Instagram on October 15. First previewed live in China, the song features introspective lyrics and a sample of The Mad Lads’ 1960s hit “Don’t Have to Shop Around.” The Chicago rapper, who updated the track in Tokyo using vintage equipment, delivers reflective bars like, “It’s been a long time coming / Fresh new tires, I’m still running.”
Despite the excitement, BULLY still lacks an official release date, though “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” and “PREACHER MAN” are expected to be part of the project. Fans first heard the latter during Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES listening session in Haikou, China.
Earlier this year, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign released their joint album VULTURES 1, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 148,000 album-equivalent units. The hit project featured Playboi Carti, North West, Chris Brown, YG, and Lil Durk. The duo followed up with VULTURES 2 in August, continuing their chart success with singles like “FOREVER ROLLING” and “530.” As for the final installment in the trilogy, fans are eagerly awaiting its potential release before the year ends.
