This past weekend is all about Atlanta’s own legend, Jermaine Dupri, as he gave us an incredible R&B Experience filled with artists who he worked with along the years of his music career. As a sold out concert, Dupri had an amazing line-up that includes, DVSN, Vedo, Eric Bellinger, Muni Long and many more.

During Jermaine’s set, the city of South Fulton have declared October 12 as ‘Jermain Dupri Day.’ The proclamation was presented to Jermaine Dupri by the city’s mayor during the R&B Experience at the Wolf Creek Amphitheatre. The musician joins a list of past recipients who are awarded for their day in South Fulton.

Dupri wrote on his Instagram post, “I felt yesterday GOD wanted me to know how important and how valuable my life is, and he don’t want me to see value in me through other people. He wants me to understand my value through me.”

The Atlanta music legend has impacted the hip-hop and R&B scene. For his work ethic, he has received many accolades including a Grammy award for production and songwriting. As So So Def was a success, Jermaine plans to do it as an annual event and tradition in honor of the new holiday.

As So So Def record label made its debut in the early ’90s, it has been its home to successful acts, such as, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Dem Franchise Boys and many more, as the list keeps getting bigger.
