Nicki Minaj Clarifies She’s Not Going on Hiatus After All
Hiatus? Nicki cleared up chatter about her taking a break after her successful Gag City world tour.
Despite recent rumors, Nicki Minaj wants fans to know she isn’t stepping away from music anytime soon. On Monday (Oct. 14), the Queens rapper made it clear on X (formerly Twitter) that she has no plans for a hiatus. “Ain’t going no motherfkin’ where. Kiss my a and hiatus,” she posted. “We don’t announce the hiatus, Barbz. Crack is whack. We don’t do that. Just relax and let what will be [happen].”

Her statement followed comments made on Stationhead the day before, where she reflected on her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” and hinted at taking a short break. During the live chat, Minaj shared,
“I am doing a hiatus, but I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple [of] things, and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect.”
Those “couple of things” could likely involve her highly anticipated next album, Pink Friday 3. In September, Nicki revealed that instead of a deluxe edition of Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded, she would release an entirely new album. “The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album,” she said, teasing fans that a release date would be announced soon.
Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour wrapped up on Oct. 11 in Queens, New York. The final show featured guest appearances from Sexyy Red and Young M.A, with opening performances by BIA and Tyga.
With a new album and major projects on the horizon, Nicki Minaj shows no signs of slowing down.
Dear Barbz,
IMPORTANT #GagCity ANNOUNCEMENT:
Instead of doing a DELUXE to Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next…— Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) September 16, 2024
