Mopreme Shakur, 2Pac’s brother, has cast doubt on Diddy’s long-standing denial of involvement in 2Pac’s 1996 murder. During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Mopreme was asked about the rumors linking the Bad Boy Records mogul to the tragic shooting, which claimed the life of the iconic rapper.

Morgan referenced a controversial 2008 Los Angeles Times article, since retracted, and comments from artists like 50 Cent and Eminem before reading Diddy’s official statement to the outlet. In his statement, Diddy denied the allegations, saying: “The story is a lie. Neither I nor [The Notorious B.I.G.] had any knowledge of any attack on 2Pac before, during or after it happened.”

“The story is a lie. Neither I nor [The Notorious B.I.G.] had any knowledge of any attack on 2Pac before, during or after it happened.”

When asked if he believed Diddy’s statement was honest, Mopreme responded:

“My opinion is that I don’t believe it was a hundred percent honest.” Pressed further on whether he thought Diddy was lying, Mopreme replied: “Quite possibly. It’s kinda looking that way, in my opinion.”

Mopreme also revealed that Diddy reached out to him personally after the L.A. Times article was published.

“He called me…and basically said he ain’t have nothing to do with my brother’s murder,” Mopreme recalled. “I told him the truth has still yet to come out so we’re gonna see. Here we are, 28 years later, it looks like there’s some doubt in that statement.”

The rumors about Diddy’s alleged involvement in 2Pac’s death have persisted, largely fueled by comments from Duane “Keefe D” Davis. The former Compton Crip, who was charged with 2Pac’s murder in 2023, claimed during a 2008 police interview that Diddy offered him $1 million to kill both 2Pac and Death Row CEO Suge Knight amidst their infamous mid-90s feud. Keefe also alleged that Diddy paid half of the agreed amount to an associate after the murder.

Diddy has consistently denied any involvement, calling Keefe’s story “pure fiction and completely ridiculous” in a 2011 L.A. Weekly interview. However, with new developments in the investigation and 2Pac’s family reportedly hiring investigators to explore the truth, questions surrounding the case continue to surface.

As the 28th anniversary of 2Pac’s death passes, the mystery surrounding his murder remains, with Mopreme Shakur among those who believe there’s still more to uncover.
