Tyla continues her meteoric rise with the release of the deluxe edition of her debut album, TYLA, now rebranded as TYLA +. This updated version of the album features three brand-new tracks, solidifying her status as a global superstar after her breakthrough season in 2023.

The new songs include collaborations with rising South African talents Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro, further highlighting Tyla’s commitment to showcasing her homeland’s musical talent on the world stage. One of the standout tracks, “Shake Ah,” kicks off the trio of fresh tunes, with Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro lending their talents to the song’s infectious vibe. The other tracks, “Push 2 Start” and “Back To You,” blend Tyla’s signature mix of Amapiano and R&B, reflecting her unique sound. As she explained to Elle,

“I always wanted to mix [Amapiano] with other styles like R&B and pop—and make it my own.”

Tyla’s global breakout began with her smash hit, “Water,” which climbed to No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the highest-charting African female soloist in history. The success of Water also earned her a GRAMMY Award and a performance spot at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her debut album, TYLA, entered the Billboard 200 Top 25, making her the highest-charting African female soloist on the chart as well.

The Water star is now in the running for four MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), including Best New Artist, Best R&B Artist, Best Afrobeats Artist, and Best African Act. This adds to her two BET Awards wins and her victory at the MTV VMAs for Best Afrobeats Video.

Looking ahead, Tyla has announced two major tour dates in South Africa this December, marking her first performance in her home country since the release of “Water.” Fans can expect even more music as Tyla hinted at evolving her sound:

“I’ve grown so much this year… this new music is going to be that version of me, the now version of Tyla,” she told PEOPLE.

Tickets for Tyla’s upcoming tour will go on sale Thursday morning. With TYLA + now available and a new era on the horizon, Tyla is set to continue her global domination.
