Mustard Anticipates Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Hopes for “Not Like Us” Performance

Producer Mustard is eagerly awaiting Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, and he’s especially excited about the possibility of Kendrick performing their hit collaboration “Not Like Us.” In a recent interview with Billboard (October 9), Mustard shared his emotions, admitting he’d be moved to tears if Kendrick performs the track, even if he isn’t invited on stage.
“I definitely can’t wait to watch the Super Bowl, man. This year’s going to be pretty special,” Mustard said. “I might shed a tear [if he performs ‘Not Like Us’]. If he performs it on stage by himself and doesn’t call me, I wouldn’t give a shit. Just perform it.”
While Mustard would love to join Kendrick on stage, he’s content to watch from the sidelines and promises to go wild either way: “I’ll be there going crazy, acting like I’m on stage. If I’m in a box, they might show me on TV from how crazy [I’ll be going].”
The hitmaker also reflected on his collaboration with Kendrick and the genius he brings to every project. In contrast, Mustard ruled out a future collaboration with Drake, saying he no longer feels the need to work with the Toronto superstar, despite their past success with YG’s 2014 hit “Who Do You Love?”
On Kendrick Lamar, Mustard had nothing but praise: “He’s just a genius. He does the unthinkable every time,” he said, comparing Kendrick’s mystique to that of Prince. “His whole mystique gives me the same vibes as Prince.”
With the 2025 Super Bowl fast approaching, Mustard and fans alike are excited to see how Kendrick Lamar will take the stage and which songs will make the cut. Whether or not “Not Like Us” is performed, Mustard is ready to celebrate Kendrick’s brilliance.
