GloRilla’s momentum has been unstoppable. Her previous project, the 12-track Ehhthang, Ehhthang, dropped in April and has since garnered over 550 million streams in the U.S. That mixtape solidified her position as a leading force in hip-hop, with two standout tracks, “Yeah Glo” (2x platinum) and “Wanna Be” (platinum), dominating the Urban Radio Top 10. Her hit “TGIF,” which was co-signed by Rihanna and has been RIAA-certified gold, continues to climb the charts. Glo made history as the first female artist in nearly a decade to simultaneously have three songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 30. “Wanna Be” also claimed the #1 spot on the Rhythmic Radio chart, with “TGIF” still in the top five.
In recognition of her achievements, GloRilla was awarded the key to the city of Memphis in September. She also performed at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where she was nominated in four categories, and made headlines with a red carpet look inspired by Vogue, which the publication featured in a “Get Ready With” article. The hitmaker has also been touring with Megan Thee Stallion, opening for her on the sold-out Hot Girl Summer tour, and has presented at major events like the ESPYs, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Billboard Women in Music.
With seven nominations at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards and an upcoming performance, GloRilla shows no signs of slowing down. The New York Times recently profiled the rapper, praising her as “hip-hop’s master motivator” and highlighting her distinctive voice, calling her husky bark one that “can move audiences across genres.”
GloRilla is making her mark on the industry, and GLORIOUS is just the beginning.
