Chris Brown’s domestic violence accuser, Liziane Gutierrez, has spoken out ahead of a new documentary, Chris Brown: A History of Violence, set to release on October 27. Gutierrez, who accused the singer of attacking her in 2016, took to Instagram on October 5 to confirm her involvement in the Investigation Discovery documentary, which will focus on her experience and other accusers’ stories.

In her post, Gutierrez revealed her decision to participate, despite signing a non-disclosure agreement. “I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to let people know what I went through and tell my side of the story,” she wrote. She also addressed the stigma she’s faced since speaking out, adding, “We can’t be against domestic violence and simply ignore some cases or worse, blame the victim.”

The documentary trailer sheds light on Brown’s history of abuse, with a focus on both well-known incidents—like his 2009 assault on Rihanna—and lesser-known allegations, such as Gutierrez’s.

The film’s producers promise “thoughtful reflections into each survivor’s experience and the psychological destruction in the aftermath of their abuse,” offering a deeper look at the complex legacy surrounding Chris Brown’s fame and allegations.
