ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and More Named Co-Chairs for 2025 Met Gala Celebrating Black Men’s Fashion

ASAP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, and Pharrell Williams have been announced as co-chairs for the 2025 Met Gala, with the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The event will celebrate Black men’s fashion, drawing from Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

The exhibit, which will run from May 6 to October 26, 2025, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will feature garments, paintings, and photographs that explore Black men’s style from the 18th century to the present day. Co-chair Anna Wintour will continue her role, alongside LeBron James as an honorary co-chair.

Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s Curator in Charge, praised the new co-chairs for their bold fashion choices, noting their ability to blend classic and modern styles. He remarked that Black men and designers are leading a renaissance in menswear.

Rocky and Williams are no strangers to the Met Gala, with Rocky attending as recently as 2023 and Williams co-chairing the event in 2017. Fans can expect the dress code and additional details to be revealed in early 2025.
