Skilla Baby & 4Batz Shout Out The Real Ones on ‘So Bad’
Detroit rap sensation Skilla Baby is back with his latest single, “So Bad,” featuring fellow 2024 XXL Freshman Classmate, 4Batz. Released via Geffen Records, this energetic track is a booming ode to loyal women, arriving just in time for Skilla’s birthday celebration. The festivities kick off with two hometown shows, creatively directed by Teyana Taylor, and set to feature special guests like Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, YTB Fatt, and Bfb Da Packman. The first show is tonight at The Fillmore, followed by a second performance this Friday. Tickets are available now.
“So Bad” showcases Skilla Baby’s signature style, opening with echoing horns, bass, and crisp drums. He proudly praises his girl’s loyalty, spitting lines like, “My bankroll blue, she get Tiffany too / She wanna go to Turks, I pay for the whole crew.” 4Batz adds his own flair, rapping, “My b**ch magazine-bad, like she been in Vogue / Celine up on her hip, Chanel up on her toe.” The track’s production is handled by YPM Carter, Higherrside, and Dizzy Banko.
2024 has been a breakout year for Skilla Baby. In July, he dropped the deluxe edition of his mixtape The Coldest, adding four new tracks, including “Booby Trap on the River” featuring BossMan Dlow. The video for this track continues his streak of visually stunning releases like “Project X (G6),” “Misfit,” and “Free Big Meech.” The Coldest has now surpassed 100 million streams.
Skilla Baby’s rise has also been fueled by his fan-voted “People’s Champ” slot on XXL’s 2024 Freshman Class cover and his nomination for “Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist” at the BET Hip Hop Awards. He also co-headlined the successful “Vultures Eat The Most” tour with Rob49 and received press coverage from People, Billboard, Stereogum, and more.
With nearly 400 million streams and co-signs from heavyweights like Big Sean, Jack Harlow, Coi Leray, and others, Skilla Baby’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing down. His latest single, “So Bad,” is sure to cement his growing legacy even further.
