Drake Unfollows Rivals on Instagram, Sparking Rumors of a Comeback

Drake has sparked rumors of a major comeback after cutting social media ties with several rivals and perceived enemies. On October 1, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the rapper had unfollowed Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and Joe Budden on Instagram. Additionally, NBA star LeBron James and former Toronto Raptor DeMar DeRozan, both of whom have been linked to supporting Kendrick Lamar in their long-standing beef, were also removed from Drake’s following list.

The unfollow spree didn’t stop there, as Playboi Carti was also axed, with fans speculating it’s due to Carti’s recent collaboration with The Weeknd on the song “Timeless.” Carti had previously appeared on a leaked version of Drake’s track “No Face,” but was noticeably absent from the final release.

Interestingly, Future has remained on Drake’s follow list despite the heated “20 vs. 1” feud that took place earlier this year.

Fans are now speculating that this move could be part of a larger plan for Drake’s return. Many believe the October’s Very Own hitmaker may be gearing up for a major release this month, especially with his birthday approaching on October 24. There’s also buzz around the possibility of his teased joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR dropping soon. During a surprise appearance at a PARTYNEXTDOOR concert in Toronto this past August, Drake hinted at the collaboration, saying: “I know all you girls are outside, and when it gets a little chilly, the PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album will be right there for you.”

PARTYNEXTDOOR confirmed that they are working on over a dozen songs for the album, adding to the anticipation. He told Awaiz Punjani that their current collaboration is his favorite, saying, “The one we doing right now — all 15 we doing right now.”

Although Drake has not released a full-length project recently, his “100 Gigs” series has kept fans entertained. The series includes outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage, and new tracks, including the single “No Face,” where Drake seemingly took a jab at Kendrick Lamar and his other rivals, rapping: “N-ggas got lit off the features I skated on / I gotta know, I gotta know / How you get lit off the n-gga you hatin’ on? / Numbers untouchable, they got the data wrong.”

As fans eagerly await Drake’s next move, his social media cleanse has only added fuel to the fire that a major project or comeback is on the horizon.
