Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorney has revealed that the music mogul intends to testify at his upcoming federal trial. In an interview with TMZ for the documentary “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment,” Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ lawyer, shared that his client is eager to take the stand.

Combs, who faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, was indicted on September 17 and is currently being held in federal custody. Two separate judges denied his bail, and he has since pleaded not guilty.

“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand,” Agnifilo said. “I think he is very eager to tell his story.”

A trial date has not yet been set. When asked about a 2016 video showing Combs allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel, which could be presented in court, Agnifilo indicated that both he and Combs are prepared to address it. “I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us,” he added.

The indictment against Combs involves so-called “freak offs,” which prosecutors describe as organized sex events involving women who were allegedly forced or coerced into participating with male sex workers, sometimes for extended periods.

If Combs testifies, he would be subject to a potentially intense cross-examination by prosecutors. “He has his story,” Agnifilo emphasized.

“And he has a story, I think, only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real time. And it’s a human story—one of love, hurt, and heartbreak.”

Combs is scheduled for a court appearance in early October and is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, reportedly in the same unit as former FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried.
