Madame Tussauds Unveils New Rihanna Wax Figure in London
Rihanna’s iconic style continues to be celebrated, as Madame Tussauds unveiled a new wax figure of the superstar on Wednesday (Sept. 25). This latest tribute to the “Work” singer will be on display in London starting Friday (Sept. 27).
The wax figure captures Rihanna’s memorable look from the 2019 British Fashion Awards, featuring a custom Fenty mini dress paired with matching gloves and a choker necklace. Madame Tussauds’ artists paid close attention to detail, replicating her medium-length Fulani braids, semi-sheer wrap, and statement earrings — minus her date for the evening, ASAP Rocky.
“Rihanna is a powerhouse in beauty, fashion, and music, truly shining like a diamond,” said Jo Kinsey from Madame Tussauds London in a press statement, as reported by Billboard. “Rihanna holds a special place in everyone’s hearts, and now our visitors can experience her in all of the lights! We’re thrilled to offer fans an unforgettable moment with the ultimate boss.”
Fans quickly reacted to the wax figure online, praising its lifelike appearance. “It’s definitely one of my favorites. Wow, so perfect,” one fan commented, while another said, “It looks like her.” One fan even mistook the wax figure for a new Rihanna photoshoot, while others praised it, saying, “That’s so spot on! Looks stunning!” and “They’re getting good at it, OMG.”
This isn’t Rihanna’s first wax tribute; earlier this year, Madame Tussauds revealed a wax figure of her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance outfit, which was also well-received. The wax museum in Orlando aimed to let viewers “feel firsthand the energy of her performance.”
Other celebrities set to be immortalized in wax in 2024 include Beyoncé, Drake, and Post Malone.
While fans eagerly await Rihanna’s next musical project, she has kept busy, having expanded Fenty Beauty internationally, launched a haircare line, and welcomed two children since her last album, ANTI.
