The two suspects involved in the murder of PnB Rock have received their sentences after being found guilty last month.

Freddie Lee Trone, 42, was sentenced to 31 years to life on Monday (September 23) for his role in the rapper’s 2022 killing, as reported by Deadline. Trone, the father of the alleged 17-year-old shooter, acted as the getaway driver and was responsible for ordering the hit. The teen has been deemed unfit for trial at this time.

Another suspect, Tremont Jones, received a 12-year prison sentence. Trone was found guilty of felony murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy in August, while Jones was convicted of two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy.

PnB Rock’s mother, Deanna Allen, expressed relief after the verdict, telling Rolling Stone, “I’m elated. I wanted to jump up and scream, ‘Hallelujah.’ I’m so happy it was quick. We got justice for Rakim. I feel better knowing they’ll be in jail for a long time.”

Although Trone’s lawyer argued he wasn’t present at the scene, surveillance footage confirmed his involvement, according to jury foreperson Edwin Lovo. Lovo also clarified that earlier claims suggesting the rapper’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang, had posted their location on social media, leading to the murder, were incorrect.

“In terms of timing, it just wasn’t plausible,” Lovo stated.

Nicki Minaj had previously criticized Sibounheuang, suggesting her social media post sharing their location was a poor decision. However, Cardi B defended her, stating: “I highly doubt nikkas was looking at PMB’s babymom IG. He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”
