Future’s ‘Mixtape Pluto’ First-Week Sales Predictions Revealed

Future’s latest mixtape Pluto has made waves, with some fans noting a Playboi Carti influence and the absence of anticipated features. However, there’s no denying that the project is on track for a massive debut week.

According to Hits Daily Double, Pluto is expected to achieve between 120,000-135,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, making it the top new album release. Its exact ranking on the Billboard 200 chart remains to be seen.

Future released Mixtape Pluto on Friday (September 20), marking his first solo mixtape in eight years since his iconic run in the mid-2010s. This is his third project in 2024, following his collaborative albums We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You with Metro Boomin.

Although Metro Boomin doesn’t contribute to this mixtape, producers like Southside, Wheezy, and ATL Jacob handle the beats. Despite speculation about a Travis Scott feature on “South of France,” the 18-track project remains entirely solo.

Future dedicated Pluto to his late cousin and mentor, Rico Wade. As a second-generation member of Atlanta’s legendary Dungeon Family crew, Wade played a crucial role in Future’s career. The cover of Pluto features Wade’s mother’s house, where Dungeon Family icons like OutKast and Goodie Mob recorded early tracks in its basement studio, known as “The Dungeon.”

In a heartfelt message on social media, Future wrote,

“My cousin never died in my eyes.. Rico Wade u already know what u mean to me! I Thank the most high for blessin me with the greatest human being that it could Ever b! Billionaire status buz [watch] over us.”

Rico Wade, who passed away earlier this year at 52, was not only a key figure in Dungeon Family’s music but also produced major R&B hits like En Vogue’s “Don’t Let Go (Love)” and TLC’s “Waterfalls.” He was part of the iconic production trio Organized Noize, alongside Ray Murray and Sleepy Brown.
