The 58th annual Country Music Association has released their nominations for this year and we can honestly say that Beyoncé was snubbed again…

With her highly-acclaimed album, Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé wasn’t on the list for nominations this year by making a history making album. She wasn’t even on the ballad for Entertainer or Album of the Year! Fans were expecting that the megastar would be the first Black woman to get nominated and win awards for her culture-shifting project.

According the Country Music Association, the album of the year award “judged on all aspects including, but not limited to, artist’s performance, musical background, engineering, packaging, design, art, layout and liner notes.” The awards are determined by eligible CMA voters professionals in the Country Music industry.

Beyoncé has broken multiple records and made history since the release of her country album. Her goal was to highlight black country music acts and the genre roots. As she has a 5-year run making the “Beyoncé” album, she has received praise with many country music legends despite the zero nominations.

But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.”
