Cleotrapa is seizing her moment in the spotlight. After sparking widespread online discussion following her fallout with former friend Ice Spice, the rising rapper has released her first official freestyle. The two artists previously clashed over Cleotrapa’s tough experiences on the Y2K! Tour, and now Cleotrapa is turning the conversation back to her music.

Appearing on On The Radar, Cleotrapa delivered sharp bars over Wale’s iconic “Chillin’” track, which originally featured Lady Gaga. In the freestyle, she confidently raps,

“How many times I switch up flows in the raps… Got a million ways to kill these b**ches off, that face so hard but you still so soft.”

While some initially doubted her musical talent in the midst of her feud with Ice Spice, fans were impressed by her lyrical skills. One fan expressed, “She was definitely writing bars for Ice Spice. If she were light-skinned, she’d have been signed already. It’s 2024, and colorism is still a thing. Keep pushing, you’ve got talent.”

Another user defended her, saying, “Let’s not pretend Cleo wasn’t making waves before this Ice Spice drama.” Some listeners even compared her flow to Nicki Minaj’s. Earlier this year, Cleotrapa dropped her vibrant single “Von Dutch,” and as an independent artist, she’s been vocal about the hard work she puts into her career.

Cleotrapa also gained support from Azealia Banks, who came to her defense online, saying, “I don’t like how people are trying to play Cleotrapa. She’ll be performing with me on Halloween at Terminal 5 in NYC. She’ll get paid, have her own glam space, and whatever she wants on her rider because I have respect & class.”

Cleotrapa’s freestyle is quickly becoming one of her most-streamed videos, showing she’s taking full advantage of the buzz surrounding her name after the Ice Spice incident.
