The Girls Are Beefing: Ice Spice vs Cleotrapa?

In her brief time in the spotlight, the ginger curly-haired rapper from the Bronx Ice Spice has achieved much success with hits such as “Munch” and “Barbie World” which had the world in a frenzy. Her songs flooded the clubs and constantly played on the radio; however, so have her multiple controversies. Ice Spice had rumored conflicts with other successful female rappers such as Nicki Minaj, Latto and Cardi B. While most issues have been allegedly resolved, a new dispute has emerged and this time, with her former friend and fellow hip-hop artist, Cleotrapa.

Cleotrapa, a New York-based artist who gained attention from songs like “Rockstar” and “Von Dutch” was added to Ice Spice’s tour earlier this year. However, as the Y2K! tour ended in Miami on August 31st, their relationship turned sour after Cleo posted a video online criticizing Ice Spice, accusing her of being a “fake friend” who supposedly only included her on the tour to manage a fallout from an alleged issue with Nicki Minaj.

Cleo posted multiple videos explaining the situation with Ice Spice. In the videos, Cleo complained that she didn’t have enough time to prepare for the tour, wasn’t paid for her performances, and had to cover her lodging expenses despite being promised otherwise. Cleo explains how Ice Spice was unsupportive throughout the tour and even humiliated her while they were in New York when she discovered she didn’t have a dressing room, unlike other guests of Ice. Cleo expressed how betrayed she feels and how Ice Spice is a horrible friend for putting her in a difficult situation.

In her 5-part Tiktok series, Cleotrapa accused Ice Spice, “You actually have one time to show me that you are jealous, intimidated, untrustworthy, fake, disloyal, ingenuine, manipulative, and calculated.”

Ice Spice responds to these accusations during a live stream on X (Twitter) denying Cleotrapa’s claims and informing her audience that she tried to help her during the tour. Ice Spice mentions that Cleopatra left out vital details in her Tiktok series and categorized Cleo as “entitled.” Ice Spice manager, James Rosemond Jr. even weighed in on the situation, labelling Cleopatra as a “clout-chaser.” Rosemond Jr. believes the team gave Cleotrapa an opportunity and accuses her management team of not supporting Cleo during the Y2K! Tour. He states on X, “You have to invest in yourself, aka pay expenses if need be for the opportunity. It’s corny. Someone gives you an opportunity and this is the thanks the person gets. Openers don’t have the same things headliners have.”

In her 5 part Tiktok series, Cleotrapa said she was forced to change in bathrooms, come out of pocket for hotel rooms, and wasn’t paid. Ice Spice agrees with her manager and believes Cleotrapa is trying to use her for clout and turn her fans against her. Looks like the two frenemies aren’t going to resolve their issues anytime soon.

“Crashing out is sad guys… The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it… That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.” – Ice Spice
