Pras Fires at Lauryn Hill in “Bar Mitzfa” Diss Track: “She Made the Mess”

Pras has voiced more of his frustrations with Lauryn Hill, this time through a diss track where he seems to hold her responsible for the recent cancellation of The Fugees’ reunion tour. In the track, which was obtained by TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper raps,

“Don’t blame me, blame her, she made the mess / Not another f**king penny, is what I told ‘Clef / Trotting the globe with the bros, playing dominoes.”

Pras also addresses his guilty verdict from last year’s fraud trial, rapping, “Obama’s name in the discoveries had to plead the fifth… DOJ was a walk in the park compared to this.” You can listen to the track here.

Last week, fans of Lauryn Hill and The Fugees were disappointed to learn that the 2024 US tour had been officially canceled. On Friday (Aug. 9), Pras hinted that there’s more to the story, telling TMZ Hip Hop, “I saved her reputation for 20 years by not telling my side of the story.” He added, “But oops… cat’s out the bag.”

Over the past decade, Lauryn Hill has developed a reputation for canceling shows or showing up late. She attributed the tour’s cancellation to “some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines,” which she claims have negatively impacted ticket sales for the North American leg of the tour. Hill expressed that “the trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal.” However, many fans speculate that low ticket sales were the real reason for the cancellation.

US ticketholders received emails notifying them that their concerts had been canceled and that refunds would be issued. As of now, all European tour dates are still “moving forward as planned.”
