Barack Obama Unveils 2024 Summer Playlist

Our former president of the USA, Barack Obama recently revealed his highly-anticipated 2024 Summer playlist and the world was shocked! Obama shared the songs he’s been rocking out to this summer in his annual summer playlist, which he posted on his Instagram Monday, 8/12. It’s a versatile and entertaining playlist for Obama, who selected tracks like Beyonce’s “Texas Hold ‘E” anthem and Shaboozey’s Billboard Hot 100 No.1 Hit, “A Bar Tipsy.” There were other great selections to show us that our former president knows how to jam! Obama wrote to his social media, “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!” He includes oldies like “How Do U Want It” by 2pac and then shuffles straight into the turn-up with “Wanna Be” by GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion. Even similar to our Vice President Kamala Harris, Obama is having a Brat summer as he lists “365” by Charli XCX in his playlist. This is part of Obama’s years-long tradition of sharing lists that consist of his favorite music, books, and movies twice a year. Obama revealed in an interview last year with Hasan Minhaj, that he truly picks these songs for his playlists himself. “No man! It’s on my iPad right now!”

While most applaud and agree with Obama’s summer playlist, some are stunned that he didn’t include the trending “Not Like Us” Drake diss from Kendrick Lamar which has the world in a frenzy for weeks. However, many of the artists on the playlist are ecstatic to know our former president is giving them their flowers. Shaboozey and Moneybagg Yo both shared their excitement on X, thanking the president for the recognition. As the summer is quickly coming to an end, check out Barack Obama’s 2024 Summer playlist!
