K-Dot strikes again breaking the record for most streamed diss track with “Not Like Us.”

Kendrick Lamar, known for his impressive streaming figures, has faced a more pronounced challenge since the release of the aforementioned West Coast anthem “Not Like Us.” This track, which explicitly critiques Drake as a manipulative figure, has garnered streaming numbers comparable to the most mainstream and widely accepted songs from either artist. Kendrick Lamar’s undeniable success with “Not Like Us” has led him to achieve a significant milestone, reportedly breaking a record once held by Tupac. A screenshot shared on Instagram by Our Generation Music on August 11 indicates that K.Dot’s latest hit has surpassed 647 million streams, exceeding Tupac’s iconic diss track “Hit ‘Em Up” by nearly six million.

Interestingly, “Hit ‘Em Up,” which features Tupac targeting the Notorious B.I.G. and other East Coast artists, was ranked as the top diss track in HipHopDX’s list of the 100 Greatest Diss Songs in Hip Hop History, a list that was inspired by Kendrick’s critique of Drake. The latter secured the third position on that list.

Although it has not yet received official certification from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), “Not Like Us” achieved one million equivalent units within a fortnight of its release in May and exceeded two million sales in the subsequent month. Through platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, “Not Like Us” and its related music video have garnered over 800 million streams.

Kendrick has taken 2024 to be the year of him.
