Latto Gives Us ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’

Latto releases her anticipated third studio album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, with special guests appearances by Young Nudy, Coco Jones, Ciara, Teezo Touchdown, Mariah The Scientist and more. “Sunday Service” and “Big Mama” were served as her latest singles leading up to the anticipated project. The rollout was remarkable as she paid tribute to Atlanta roots from the introduction of presenting the album that you have heard the distinct voice from the classic Atlanta movie called ‘ATL’ to even tracks like “Copper Cove” and “Georgia Peach.”

Latto shared with Billboard, “I feel like what I’m doing has not been done before, so let’s start there. [Aesthetically], I’ve been pulling from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Lil’ Kim. [Musically], I’ve been pulling from Kelis, but obviously with a Southern hip-hop twist.”

With her 2022 run with the release of her album, 777, that peaked on No. 15, Latto kept the momentum with her smash singles “Big Energy,” and by going on tour with the support of the album that sold out in every city. Outside of her own music, she made guest appearances on Usher’s latest album with the track “A-Town Girl,” as well as, teamed up with Jennifer Lopez’s single “Can’t Get Enough (remix).”
