Sexyy Red has addressed rumors that she would be performing at an upcoming rally for Donald Trump.

Earlier this week, a post on X claimed that the “Get It Sexyy” rapper would be performing at Trump’s rally in Atlanta on Saturday, August 3.

Sexyy quickly shut down the speculation with a retweet, writing, “Dey fakin dats cap.”

Last month, Sexyy Red faced backlash for wearing a giant MAGA hat during her performance at the 2024 Roots Picnic. While the hat read “Make America Sexyy Again” instead of Trump’s slogan, many fans were not pleased with the perceived endorsement of the controversial figure.

“It’s Sexyy Red 4 President [American flag emoji] I’m my own candidate I’m not endorsing anybody period [kiss emoji],” she clarified on X the next day.

In October, Sexyy Red shared her admiration for Trump during an interview on comedian Theo Von’s “This Past Weekend” podcast. She claimed that many people in the hood appreciate Trump for freeing Black people from prison and providing stimulus checks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I like Trump,” she said. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first, I don’t think people were fing with him. They thought he was racist, saying little s against women.

“But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aww baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.”

She added: “I love Trump. He funny to me. I used to be watching him talking to people. He used to be calling people fat. He just bold. He funny. We need people like him.”

Her comments received a mixed response on social media, considering Trump’s presidency was marred by accusations of racism, misogyny, and election interference.

“Clearly some people don’t know how the stimulus checks worked, who’s money it actually was/is and how it got distributed… People believe anything,” Hot 97 and Apple Music’s Ebro Darden wrote on X.

Another person commented: “Disappointed to see this, she can’t be my fave new rapper no more. But she is right, them stimulus checks was kinda all it took for a lot of ppl to hop on the Trump train smh.”
