Justin Timberlake’s Friend Drove His Rental Car Home After His DUI Arrest

Justin Timberlake’s drinking companion returned to the scene of his arrest and offered to drive his rental car to her house after the singer’s DUI bust last month, according to a report.

The “SexyBack” singer, 43, who is currently on a world tour, was stopped in the Hamptons last month for blowing a stop sign and swerving out of his lane.

Timberlake was pulled over in Sag Harbor, Long Island, just after midnight on June 18 and charged with driving while intoxicated, running a stop sign, and failure to stay in his lane, according to court documents.

Despite being intoxicated herself, the unnamed woman Timberlake had allegedly been drinking with that night drove his rental car to her property after Timberlake was taken to jail, sources told TMZ.

The woman reportedly asked the arresting officer, “Are you going to arrest Justin Timberlake?” She then offered to drive the singer to her home so he could stay the night and sober up.

The officer refused to let Timberlake go. Instead, the woman asked if she could drive Timberlake’s rental car to her house, given that he was going to jail, according to TMZ. The cops allowed her to drive, despite her being allegedly under the influence.

Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., is reportedly arguing that the officers made an error in judgment by letting the woman drive after drinking herself. Burke plans to present this argument to the judge as part of his motion to dismiss the case, TMZ reports.

The Post has reached out to Timberlake’s representatives and legal team for comment.

Last week, Burke Jr. insisted that Timberlake was not intoxicated at the time of his arrest. “Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated. And we’re very confident that the criminal charge will be dismissed,” Burke told reporters following a court appearance on Friday.

Timberlake did not appear in person at the proceedings, as he was scheduled to perform two concerts in Poland as part of his world tour last week.
