Ice Spice Breaks Silence on Leaked Text Messages About Nicki Minaj

Less than 24 hours before her debut album release, Ice Spice addressed two major topics: her leaked text messages about Nicki Minaj and the renewed tension with Latto.

In a Rolling Stone interview published on Thursday (July 25), the Bronx star confirmed the authenticity of the exposed exchange between her and Baby Storme. However, she believes it won’t significantly impact her relationship with Minaj.

Ice explained,

“She’s incredibly busy. I don’t think she cares about stuff like that coming from a random girl. What I said in those texts was just out of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have used different words.”

“Regardless of how I felt in that moment, [Nicki] is still someone I respect as an artist, and I will always admire everything she’s done for me and the culture,” she added.

In May, Storme shared screenshots of the “Deli” hitmaker calling Minaj “ungrateful and delusional.” Ice also claimed their “Barbie World” collaboration happened because the Barbie producers contacted her first, not Minaj.

Regarding Latto, Ice said that if they were to talk, there would be “no issue whatsoever.” She explained, “I understand friendly competition, but it’s a joke that she’s dragged out, and it’s just not funny anymore.”

The Grammy nominee also commented on Latto’s poop-themed cake, posted before her Sugar Honey Iced Tea announcement. “It’s kind of a compliment because you’re taking something meant to be a fun moment for you and making it about me… again,” she said.

Ice’s perspective on the feud mirrored Latto’s, who emphasized, “It’s not even that serious” in a recent interview with Billboard. The two artists have notably exchanged subliminal messages in their tracks “Think U The S**t (Fart)” and “Sunday Service.”
