Remy Ma Sparks Split Rumors By Reverting To Maiden Name

Remy Ma has further fueled speculation that she and Papoose have separated by reverting to her maiden name.

After months of rumors about their split, Remy is now using the name Remy Kioni Smith instead of Papoose’s last name, Mackie.

Fans noticed the name change in the songwriting credits for her new single with Fat Joe, “Outta Control,” released last week. In contrast, her previous release, last year’s “Ghetto & Ratchet (Remix)” with Connie Diamond, listed her as Remy Mackie.

Neither Remy Ma nor Papoose has publicly addressed their relationship status, but rumors suggest that Remy had an affair with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain.

Speculation about Remy cheating on Papoose began last summer when reports surfaced that Papoose confronted Eazy at a Chrome 23 rap battle and knocked him out for getting “too cozy” with his wife.

“I saw Papoose make an aggressive move and swing,” said an attendee who claimed to have witnessed the incident. “Next thing I knew, Eazy was on the floor, and there was a lot of commotion. People were running out, Remy came in with her security, and they closed the door and started arguing.”

The witness added:

“This whole ‘it didn’t happen’ thing is nonsense. Papoose did knock out Eazy The Block Captain. What it was about, I don’t know, but Eazy was too close to Remy for comfort.”

Remy Ma denied the rumors at the time, tweeting:

“I’d like to apologize to everyone disappointed tonight because we couldn’t get three full rounds from all the opponents… I tried… and can y’all please STOP with the Eazy & Pap LIES. There’s NO place like Chrome! Right back at it; see y’all in August #Chrome23.”

Despite her denial, Remy and Eazy have been seen together several times since, including at a Philadelphia Eagles game and what appeared to be a more intimate date.

Remy and Papoose were seen together in March at Papoose’s 46th birthday party, but fans noted that Remy’s body language seemed cold, suggesting tension between the two.
