JT Announces City Cinderella Tour + New Documentary
JT has announced a new documentary, offering an intimate glimpse into her journey leading up to her debut solo album.
Scheduled for release on July 17, the trailer for The City Cinderella Documentary features clips of JT from her prison release to her performances with City Girls around the world.
“The person you thought you knew – that shit was all a lie,” she says in the trailer. “Everything that I’ve been through, I just always overcome every obstacle. And I just had hoped, hoped, hoped that I get a second chance at music. This is a new chapter for me and I really, really, really wanna show the world who I am.”
The full documentary will be available two days before her debut solo album, City Cinderella, drops on July 19.
JT previously announced the album’s title, release date, and striking cover art in an Instagram post earlier this month.
“City Cinderella coming….7/19,” she wrote, accompanied by a crown and an ice cube emoji. “Pre-save link in bio. My hands shaking posting this. Juvies we here…”
The album cover features a naked JT, with her bottom half made of ice (or possibly glass), a glass slipper nearby, and a crown on her head.
On July 9, JT also revealed she will be embarking on a 21-date tour across the United States this summer to promote the album. The tour kicks off in Kansas City late next month and wraps up in Los Angeles toward the end of September.
Tickets will be available starting Friday, July 12, and can be purchased here.
In February, JT released her first official solo track “Sideways,” which received critical acclaim and became the No. 1 most-added song on United States Urban Radio just weeks after its release.
Reacting to the news on Instagram, she wrote: “Ahhhhhh! [three champagne bottle emojis] SIDEWAYS the number #1 most added at urban radio! & That’s because of y’all & every PD, MD & most importantly the DJ’s! I’m so humble & grateful.”
Two months later, she teamed up with Doechii on the single “Alter Ego.”
