Prom Night to Remember: Bri Biase and Georgia Cyber Academy Team Up to Make Dreams Come True for Deserving Student Nya Cropper
On May 17th, an extraordinary partnership between musician Bri Biase and the Georgia Cyber Academy will make prom night unforgettable for a deserving student, Nya Cropper. Nya, a standout student at the virtual school based in Atlanta, was struggling to afford prom expenses. Fortunately, Bri Biase’s organization, “That’s My Sis Inc. & Public Relations Team Playbookmg,” stepped in to help.
Caroline McDade, the Assistant Director of Counseling Student Experience & Engagement at the Academy, identified Nya as an ideal candidate for this support due to her academic achievements and financial need. The news was met with tears of joy from Nya and her family. Thanks to the generosity of Bri’s initiative and the collaboration with Trina’s “Diamond Dolls,” “That’s My Sis Inc.” has arranged a complete prom package for Nya. This package covers her prom ticket and that of her date, along with complete beauty preparations—makeup by Jade Thomas and hairstyling by Barbie Scissor Hand. Additionally, Nya will wear a stunning gown provided by Becca’s Closet, a nonprofit that gifts prom dresses to students who otherwise couldn’t afford them, which has been operating in the Greater Atlanta area since 2012.
“That’s My Sis Inc.” mission is rooted in empowering and supporting young women and girls through community engagement, mentorship, and donations. The organization aims to uplift and inspire within a supportive environment.
The prom took place at the magnificent Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium, with Nya’s preparations, including a glam session and a professional photoshoot by Selective Focus ATL, which happened at a local photo studio. This heartwarming story highlights the profound impact that artistic and educational collaborations can have, bringing communities together to support the dreams of young individuals.
