City Girls’ JT Teases New Single “No Bars” Dropping Friday
It’s exciting to hear that JT is stepping back into the solo spotlight with her new single “No Bars.” The announcement was made on Monday, July 10 through her Instagram account. The caption of her post hinted at the tone of the new song, stating, “B**ches always in my business. ‘No Bars’ Friday! [Pre-Save link in bio].”
The cover art for the single, set to be released on Friday, July 14, has a 2002 video game vibe and features a font inspired by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. In the artwork, JT is seen wearing a black swimsuit adorned with pink stars while standing next to an inflatable whale in a drained pool.
This release marks JT’s first solo venture since 2019’s “JT First Day Out,” which she dropped following her one-year prison sentence for credit card fraud. Since then, she has made notable contributions to other artists’ songs, including Nicki Minaj’s 2022 track “Super Freaky Girl” on the “Queen Mix” and Summer Walker’s 2021 song “Ex For A Reason.”
It appears that JT has refocused her attention on her music career despite a recent dispute with Lil Uzi Vert at the BET Awards on June 25. During the incident, JT allegedly threw her phone at Uzi, but they were seen together in a harmonious manner at a release party on June 27.
Initially, fans speculated that JT’s outburst was in response to a photograph featuring Uzi and Ice Spice. However, JT’s team clarified the situation to TMZ, stating that her frustration stemmed from losing her seat rather than any interaction with Lil Uzi Vert.
In the meantime, as part of City Girls, the duo released their single “Piñata” in June, followed by “I Need A Thug” the next day. They also collaborated with Diddy and Fabolous on the summer hit “Act Bad.” With JT now returning to the solo scene and City Girls consistently releasing popular tracks, fans are eagerly anticipating the duo’s next move.
