LIYAH KATANA Releases Live Performance of Debut Single “STR8”

Def Jam Recording’s and Nyce Sound Production’s newest signee Liyah Katana has released the live performance of her debut single, “STR8.” The visuals are reminiscent of a classic R&B live show as she adds her touch to the sound. The R&B Songstress is seen in a room dimly lit, accompanied by a piano player, adding to the sultry vibe of the song.

Her vocals practically curl around a slick beat on the track, melting into a magnetic hook. As she confesses, “Falling out of love with the things you’ve done,“ a string crescendo only amplifies the emotional punch.

The 19-year-old singer is a Toronto native who began garnering attention in 2021. Before signing with Def Jam, she released her EP ‘Forevaliyah’ which introduced her artistry. Now, Liyah Katana is becoming one to watch in the R&B genre. “STR8” is the first single of her upcoming debut EP ‘8’.
