Leon Thomas Reflects On Failed Love In New Single, “Crash and Burn”

On his latest release, GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter & producer Leon Thomas details his struggles to find true love on new single, “Crash and Burn,” via EZMNY Records/Motown Records. 

Leon uses his soulful vocals to take us on a trip through the thoughts in his mind, as he reflects on his feelings towards his failed love encounters. The intensity of the disappointment creates the comparison of crashing and burning in his mind. He even ponders the ideas of “living in the sky” and “caring for nothing” because of the current state of misery in his heart on the single produced by Faxxonly & BNYX of Working on Dying (Drake, Future, Lil Uzi Vert). “This is a song about yearning for a meaningful relationship, but only finding surface-level and materialistic bonds and the emotional toll it takes on you. It’s the journey of feeling numb to the possibility of finding true love at all.” says Leon. 

“Crash & Burn” is the fourth official release from Leon’s highly-anticipated debut album, Electric Dusk due out this summer. This track follows the singles “Breaking Point,” “Love Jones” ft. Ty Dolla $ign and “X-Rated” ft. Benny The Butcher. More recently, for Valentine’s Day, Leon & Coco Jones released a Spotify single covering Justin Timberlake & Beyoncé’s “Until The End of Time,” and the single has received over 3.5 million streams. Not to mention, “Breaking Point” continues to grow in popularity having received over 10 million total streams and counting since its release and is quickly becoming a  break-up anthem among fans and press alike. 

The multi-faceted talent has spent the last 10 years writing and producing for the likes of SZA, Drake, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Ella Mai, Kehlani, Giveon and Snoh Aalegra just to name a few. An accomplished actor in his own right, Leon has starred in Nickelodeon’s Victorious and Issa Rae’s Insecure.
