Derek Minor Brings “Pressure” With New Single
Ahead of his forthcoming ‘Nobody’s Perfect‘ project and following the release of 2021’s ‘I’m Lovely‘ and ‘Highlight Tapes, Vol. 1,’ Derek Minor enlists Thi’sl & Aaron Cole for the piped up collaboration “Pressure.” The self-produced record finds the Nashville native reminding fans and critics alike just what they’ve been missing since his brief hiatus. Serving the perfect mix between a cocky comeback and the emotional expression of what these last two years entailed, the turnt-up track also comes readily available with a matching HD music video.
“When you are striving for greatness, it comes with tons of pressure. The temptation is to fold under that pressure and accept defeat. The song is meant to motivate people to stay the course and rise to the occasion,” said the seasoned rap staple when asked about the song’s central theme.
Derek Minor has earned the title of veteran in the game not only as a rapper, but also as a producer and businessman. After a decade of making music, the award-winning artist has established himself as a leading voice of hope in the midst of darkness. Among his achievements include a Gold Plaque for producing Lecrae’s “Dirty Water” off the 2014 album, ‘Anomaly,’ and a Grammy for his production work on Lecrae’s 2012 album, ‘Gravity.’
In 2009, he founded Reflection Music Group with producer and former Syndicated Mix Show host Doc Watson, which boasts a full-fledged label and marketing service, RMG Amplify. This is one of Minor’s greatest accomplishments as he now passes the baton to his roster of artists who are fresh voices of triumph.
