Drake Now Ties Jay-Z For Most #1s On Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Album Chart
Drake is one of today’s most revered Hip Hop figures of our generation and lately, he shows no signs of slowing down. The “Champagne Papi” is constantly making headlines, but mainly for his record-breaking skills. According to reports, the Toronto born rapper just reached a new milestone now tying rap mogul JAY-Z with the most #1’s on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop chart.
The accomplishment comes on heels off the release of his joint project with fellow rapper 21 Savage on Her Loss, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 selling 404,000 equivalent sales in the United States alone. The collaborative album marks Drizzy’s 14th album to hit #1 atop the charts, while making 21’s 3rd.
Previously, his albums Honestly, Nevermind and Certified Lover Boy also reached that feat, adding to his achievements. Hov held that position for some time, followed by the likes of Kanye West and Eminem, before Drake caught up to him.
