Xscape Still A Group, LaTocha Backs Out of Tour
Despite reports claiming that 90’s R&B quartet Xscape has broken up, the ladies want to make it known that they are still together; except group member LaTocha Scott will not be joining on their upcoming tour this fall.
Back in September, it was announced that three of the ladies from the multi-platinum selling would be going on a small tour called the R&B Music Experience, Kandi Burruss, Tamika Scott and Tameka “Tiny” Harris but once fans saw the flyer for the promotion, they quickly took notice that LaTocha wasn’t on the bill. Apparently, LaTocha, who is 1/2 of the Scott sisters in the group has claimed that her husband had a falling out with the tour’s promoter and had since asked her group members to drop him to which they disagreed. Ultimately, that resulted in LaTocha opting to stay off the tour, but she hasn’t permanently left the group.
There were also other whispers that Scott was upset that the tour would continue and the group would continue without her, but sources close to her says she’s in full support and that she even allowed them permission to use the name Xscape, instead of Xscape 3, which was previously used when Kandi wasn’t part of the fold. The group has recently shot a project with Bravo that is set to premiere in March of 2023.
Also, Kandi recently called out and accused former Bravo producer Carlos King for stealing the idea of an Xscape biopic and selling it to TVOne.
All four ladies are set to appear at their Soul Train Performance next Sunday (November 13th). The group will be this year’s recipients of the Lady Of Soul Award.
