Ghana’s Black Sherif Gets Into His Feelings In Debut Album ”The Villain I Never Was”

Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif releases his surprise debut album, “The Villain I Never Was”.

Announcing that he’s ready for war with his new single, “Soja,” Blacko has poured everything into this album and it embodies all he stands for; originality, honesty, hope, pain, attention to detail and so much more. An incomparable voice, this is his time to take centre stage and he has confirmed through his jaw-dropping live performances and co-signs from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, that he is an artist on his way to greatness. Earlier this month the rising star announced his debut London show will be taking place at KOKO in Camden on October 25th followed by a show in New York on November 6th.

Born and raised in the Ashanti region of Ghana, his dedicated following has now spread across the entire globe. There is no denying that his star has been rising rapidly over the past two years starting with the TWO instalments of his ’Sermon’ freestyles. He’s gone on to collaborate with some of the global music scene’s most exciting voices including; Burna Boy, Ivorian Doll, Vic Mensa, Darkoo and ArrDee to name a few.

His recent single “Kwaku The Traveller” was one of his biggest songs to date and was the No.1 most Shazamed song in the world as well as being used over 1 million times on Tik Tok for the famous lyric “Of course I fucked up. Who never fuck up? Hands in the air, no hands?”. Prior to that, in 2020 he started to rise after his releases; “Money” and “Destiny” went viral and were highly praised by the Ghanaian music scene. Most recently, Black Sherif was nominated for Best International Flow at this years 2022 BET Hip Hop awards.
