Cardi B Releases Highly Anticipated Single “Hot Sh*t” Featuring Kanye West & Lil Durk

While Cardi B has yet to follow up her Grammy-winning debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy‘, she hasn’t been missing altogether either. Since her 2019 debut, the Bronx rapper has given us two hits with her 2020 collaboration with Megan Thee StallionWAP” & “Up”, a solo effort, in 2021. Both of the singles proved that the artist born Bercalis Almánzar is all but certain to release hit after hit moving forward.

The duality of the two records also show that Cardi and her team know how to deliver to different parts of the superstar’s fanbase. “WAP” is a catchy, lyrical expression of the personalities of both Megan and Cardi B while in “Up” Almánzar chooses violence from the start to bring us a bar-filled banger that lasted well into the summer.

With her latest song, Cardi B tapped in with two Chicago legends: one of Hip-Hop’s greatest hitmakers in Kanye West & arguably the hottest rapper out right now, Lil Durk. From the jump Cardi lets us know that she hasn’t gone anywhere and is looking to reclaim her spot at the helm of rap. She begins the song with her signature flow:

Now this that hot shit / Jimmy Snuka off the top rope, superfly shit (Fly) / Might get in the tub with all my ice on some ‘Pac shit (Hot) / Either way you slice it, bottom line, I’m the top bitch / New Chanel, I rock it, twist and it ain’t even out yet / All this jewelry at the grocery store, I’m obnoxious

As you can see, the Hot 100 record holder is not lacking the confidence or ability to break her own historic record. Lil Durk & Ye hold their own on the song as well. West even opens up about his longtime friend, legendary fashion designer and creative, Virgil Abloh’s passing.

“When we lost Virg’, I was on the verge, mm-mm / I just hit the Louis store, I had to splurge, mm-mm” raps West.

The track features production from Memphis’s own, Tay Keith, and is sure to be a top contender for “Song of the Summer”.
