Karol G Honors Selena Quintanilla, Shakira And Other Latin Stars At Coachella

In true Bichota fashion, Karol G stole the show Sunday night at Coachella 2022. Her “Bichotella” set definitely put her on the path to possibly having the livest set of the day. Breaking necks in an all denim bodysuit and Diamond hoop earrings, Karol was surrounded by over a dozen dancers who danced in unison with her throughout the entire set.Karol made sure to have surprises for fans by way of special guest’s Dutch Dj Tiesto and Mexican American Singer Becky G.

Karol made sure to pay homage to those who paved the way for artist’s like she and Becky to shine , fans watched as a visual popped up on the massive screens offering a musical timeline of influential hit songs, beginning with the year 1953 and Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba,” followed by Santana’s 1970s classic “Oye Como Va” and Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine’s 1980s smash “La Conga.”

Dressed in the colors of her native Colombia Red Yellow and Blue — Karol exclaimed , “Tonight I feel so happy and so proud to represent my country and my Latina community around the world. Now I just want to have a moment in my show to honor the Latina songs that were number one in the world but were never played on this stage — but they have the opportunity here. Shortly after the screens behind her flashed scenes paying tribute to Selena Quintanilla Perez the fallen icon of Tejano music. Karol got fans emotional with her rendition of Selena’s hit song “Como La Flor”

Karol also paid tribute to songs like “Hips dont lie” by Shakira , “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee and “Maria” by Ricky Martin amongst others.
